Plan Description

Enjoy the time of making Bonsai on your own!

Bonsai is the traditional Japanese art of creating and contemplating miniature natural landscapes in pots using trees and other plants. Practitioners shape their landscapes by pruning branches, bending them, and fixing them with wires. They may also arrange stones and grow moss to suit their tastes. Works created by bonsai masters are artistic marvels and sold for huge sums totaling hundreds of thousands or even millions of yen.

A bonsai work is never complete, because the living plants it is composed of are continually growing. This is why bonsai creations require daily care and attention and a considerable investment of time.

On this Bonsai course, you can learn how to make a mini bonsai from the experienced director in Bonsai Art Museum. Also you can visit the Bosai Garden, where 100 bosai are on display. Some Bosai can be viewed from different angles, so you can take an overlooking as per your interest. You could also have the chance to learn Bonsai creation from Mr Kobayashi, who have 40 years experiences of Bonsai creation and the founder of Bonsai Art Museum Haruhaen. He would teach you about the aesthetic expression of plants in the four seasons in potted plants. Through this course, you could also learn how to make the harmony between human beings and nature.
